Nobilia kitchens in Scotland

Nobilia German kitchens, supplied through our sister company and designed, delivered and installed by our own Edinburgh team - anywhere in mainland Scotland.

Talk to us about a Nobilia kitchen

Nobilia, based in Verl in North Rhine-Westphalia, is Germany's largest kitchen manufacturer and has been building kitchens since 1945. Its scale is the point: highly automated production, consistent tolerances and very competitive pricing for a genuinely German-built kitchen.

We supply Nobilia through our sister company. The cabinetry is Nobilia's; the design, survey, project management and installation are ours, backed by a 5-year guarantee on our workmanship.

Why Nobilia works well on Scottish projects

Nobilia's strength is getting a solid German-built kitchen into a realistic budget without dropping to flat-pack. Carcases are rigid and pre-assembled, hardware is soft-close as standard, and because production volume is enormous, the finishes on offer are current rather than five years behind.

That makes it a sensible specification for buy-to-let and rental refurbishments, developer plots, self-build plots where the kitchen budget is fixed early, and family homes where the money is better spent on the worktop and appliances than on cabinet fronts.

How a Nobilia kitchen is built

Cabinets are produced to order and shipped as rigid units. Carcases are moisture-resistant board, edges are sealed, and drawer boxes run on soft-close runners with adjustable hinges - the same fundamentals as more expensive German brands, with less choice at the margins.

Fronts cover matt and gloss lacquer laminates, textured anti-fingerprint surfaces, timber reproductions and framed classic profiles. Handleless is available as a J-pull grip and as a recessed-rail system, so a contemporary Scottish extension can be specified without visible hardware.

Where Nobilia sits against Impuls, Schüller and handmade

Nobilia and Impuls compete closely: both are volume German manufacturers with strong value, and the choice usually comes down to which specific door finish and internal fittings suit the room. Schüller sits above both on finish depth and cabinet flexibility.

Our own Cameron Bespoke handmade cabinetry is the other end of the scale - in-frame, hand-painted, built in Edinburgh to the millimetre. A common outcome on larger projects is Nobilia or Impuls in the utility and boot room with handmade cabinetry in the main kitchen, which keeps the budget where it shows.

Designed in Edinburgh, fitted across Scotland

We design from your plans or measurements, at 24 Dalziel Place in Edinburgh or remotely by video call, and survey the room before placing any order.

Worktops, Blanco sinks, Quooker taps and AEG appliances are supplied and commissioned as part of the job, and we can carry the electrics, plumbing, plastering, flooring and decoration too. One contact, one programme, one team on site.

Nobilia door styles and finishes

Nobilia's catalogue changes with each model year. These are the families Scottish projects most often specify - we bring current samples to your appointment.

Matt lacquer laminate

Smooth matt fronts across a broad colour range, in handled and handleless. The most commonly specified Nobilia finish and the easiest to live with.

Anti-fingerprint textured matt

A fine-grain matt surface engineered to hide fingerprints and light marks - the sensible pick for dark greys, blues and greens in a busy family kitchen.

Timber reproduction

Convincing oak, walnut and light timber reproductions that stand up to daily use better than real veneer, and pair well with a painted island.

Gloss fronts

High-gloss doors that bounce light around narrow or north-facing rooms - effective in tenement and apartment kitchens.

Framed and classic profiles

Shaker-style and framed doors for period properties where a flat slab would sit wrong, at a keener price than in-frame handmade cabinetry.

Handleless grip and rail systems

J-pull grip profiles and recessed-rail handleless, available with matching tall units and island returns so the sightline stays continuous.

Nobilia kitchen questions

Are Nobilia kitchens any good?
Yes, for what they are. Rigid German-built carcases, sealed edges and soft-close hardware as standard, at a keener price than premium German brands. You give up some finish depth and cabinet flexibility rather than basic build quality.
Where are Nobilia kitchens made?
In Verl, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Nobilia has been manufacturing since 1945 and is the largest kitchen manufacturer in Germany.
Nobilia or Schüller - which should I choose?
Nobilia for value and a fixed budget; Schüller where finish depth, colour range and cabinet flexibility matter more than price. We can quote the same layout in both so the comparison is like for like rather than showroom against showroom.
What does a Nobilia kitchen cost in Scotland?
Worktop, appliances and installation usually account for more of the final figure than the cabinetry. Our Scottish kitchen cost guide gives realistic bands by kitchen size, and our quotes are itemised line by line.
Can I buy Nobilia in Edinburgh or Glasgow?
Yes. We supply Nobilia through our sister company and design, deliver and install across all of mainland Scotland, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Fife, Perthshire, Aberdeen and the Highlands, with no travel surcharge.
How long is the lead time on a Nobilia kitchen?
Allow around 5-6 weeks from a signed order and completed survey. We book the installation team to the confirmed delivery date rather than optimistically ahead of it.
Do you offer supply-only Nobilia kitchens?
Yes. Supply-only suits clients with their own builder or trades. Alternatively we install with our own team and can cover electrics, plumbing, plastering, flooring and painting as one package.
