Worktops & surfaces
Cosentino's ultracompact sintered stone - heat, scratch and UV proof, in matt, textured and polished finishes, templated and fitted by our own team across Scotland.
Dekton is the toughest surface we supply. Created by ultra-compacting and sintering more than 20 natural minerals, it holds vibrant colour, veined patterns and neutral tones in both matt and gloss finishes while shrugging off the things that mark other worktops.
Dekton is made from over 20 natural minerals fused by Cosentino's Sinterized Particle Technology, giving a denser, harder surface than standard porcelain.
Withstands high temperatures without damage or discolouration, and shows no wear from heavy day to day use - the closest thing to an indestructible worktop.
Hard enough to cut directly on the surface without leaving marks, which is why it suits busy family kitchens and long island runs.
Liquids, oils, wine and household acids do not soak in, so cleaning is warm soapy water and there is no sealing or annual treatment.
Colour does not fade in sunlight and the slab handles rain, frost, wind and sudden temperature swings - ideal for garden kitchens and bar areas.
Dekton's structure allows induction hobs to be fitted beneath the surface, so the worktop reads as one uninterrupted plane.
The Dekton palette below is grouped by series - from the marble-inspired Pietra Kode and Pietra Edition ranges through the Onirika veins and Kraftizen plasters to the plain solids and industrial concretes.

Slim 4mm and 8mm sheets also allow Dekton to run up walls as cladding or wrap an island in the same material as the top.

Dekton is priced by colour group, slab area and fabrication detail rather than by a flat rate per metre. Broadly it sits alongside premium quartz - above laminate and solid surface, and comparable with or a little above natural granite. Mitred thick edges, waterfall island ends, drainer grooves and matching splashbacks are the details that move the figure most, so we price each kitchen from your plans.
It is extremely hard, which makes fabrication slower and specialist - it is not a material to cut on site, and later alterations are difficult. Very dark polished finishes show dust and fingerprints more than textured ones, and thin overhangs need proper support. In return you get a surface that shrugs off heat, UV and scratching.
Dekton is the most heat, scratch and UV resistant, and the only one of the three we recommend outdoors. Quartz such as Silestone gives the widest choice of soft veining and consistent colour indoors. Granite is a natural stone, so every slab is unique but pattern and porosity vary. All three are non-porous enough for everyday kitchen use when properly fabricated.
Dekton is harder, more heat resistant and UV stable, so it copes with hot pans and outdoor use. Silestone offers deeper colour and softer veining for indoor tops. We will show you both against your chosen door finish in the Edinburgh showroom.
Yes. Dekton's high heat and thermal shock resistance means pans off the hob or out of the oven will not damage or discolour the surface, unlike quartz.
It can. Dekton does not fade in sunlight and resists rain, frost and freeze-thaw cycles, which makes it the surface we specify for outdoor kitchens, barbecue runs and garden bars across Scotland.
Yes. We template once the cabinetry is installed, the slab is fabricated by our approved partner and our own team fits it anywhere in Scotland - undermounted sinks, flush hob cut-outs, mitred edges and matching upstands included.
Send us your plans or rough dimensions and we will price a Dekton specification for your kitchen, including sink, hob and upstand details.
